"The Power of Music," a performance to benefit the UC Health’s Barrett Cancer Center, was held Sunday, April 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Hall.
The performance featured musician and composer Zac Greenberg, dancer and choreographer Charlotte Smith and Concert: Nova. The event honored Dr. Stanley Kaplan and Dr. Fred Elkus.
Greenberg has composed music for the Cincinnati Ballet, the dance companies of LA West for film and for several multimedia reality programs. He performs throughout the United States and has lectured at TEDtalks as well as musician and wellness conventions. He has written music for the 2017 Blink Cincinnati installation currently is composing an opera for Concert Nova.
Smith, founder of Charlotte Katherine and Co., a Los Angeles-based dancer, choreographer and teacher, acting rehearsal director and founding member of MULTIPLEX DANCE, is a company member of Kelly Alvarez & Artists as well as Sean Greene’s ShieldWall Dance Company. Smith has performed with numerous Los Angeles dance companies, including Donna Sternberg & Dancers and BrockusRED.
Concert:Nova, founded in 2007 by a group of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra musicians, the group seeks inter-artistic collaboration with an inquisitive and adventurous spirit to create a multi-dimensional blend of compelling and thought-provoking performances.
